So two weeks ago today, we were basking in 20 degree weather in the backyard, surrounded by snow...and today we are not near 20 degrees (just at 0 right now) and I am feeling really, really, really tired. Very odd weather, this Alberta...

On another note, I was just doing a bit of a blog review and found this great post by ali edwards about a special kit her and a few others have contributed to for Autism Speaks (a worldwide organization that educates about and funds research for autism). The best news...Jessica Sprauge and Ali Edwards are both donating $2 each towards Autism Speaks for each kit ordered...so go ahead a buy one of these great kits guilt free - you are really donating $4 to a great and important organization and getting a great kit, too!!

Have a great Monday!

another project

It is {almost} finished...and I'm pretty happy with it! I tried a few new techniques that I have come across lately and had a lot of fun with it. The best part was when I came downstairs this morning and all three kids were looking at it. I LOVE that they love these mini-books...

coupons and creativity

So I started with a $20 album that consisted of 3 chipboard sheets, 2 black felt sheets, 1 transparent sheet and 2 printed transparent sheets -all 8X8 (I did buy it at 40% off, so it isn't that bad), and ended up with a 7X7 album that consists of none of the pieces of the album I bought save the 2 black felt sheets (which I could have bought from the fabric store for a dollar). Sometimes I need a little creative push with the purchase of something a little out of the ordinary. I can always stash the rest of the stuff and use it for another project right?? If I am the average, scrapbooking will never, ever die out...

One fabulous weekend

It was a crazy but amazing weekend! We started out with an amazing spritual experience on Friday morning, ended the long weekend with a glass of wine (ahhh...) and did everything in between! Friday I was able to clean out the back garden, and today we moved plants and dirt to get ready for a new patio. It was wonderful to get dirt under my fingernails again. We also had the obligatory Easter dinner last night, which ended up being a good time - lots of adults, lots of kids, lots of pregnant women (thankfully I am not in the latter category) and good connecting time. We also had a fabulous Grand Opening service on Sunday morning...we are so thankful for such a wonderful church family! A great weekend full of family, friends, the Spirit, sunshine, dirt and the promise of true life from the One who give His...what more could a person ask for?

Heavy

Today has been a heavy day - marriages breaking up, mixed emotional messages, affairs, burn out, confusion...and on such a beautiful sunny day. I just can't seem to shake it.

Yikes!

Has it really almost been a month since my last post? Life is crazy - hopefully things will settle down once Easter hits. I am shriveling up inside with all this snow that keeps falling, but last week I planted some seeds; they have sprouted and I have a little bit of Spring in our bedroom at the moment. I cannot WAIT to get them outside...
